The Langano Clinic has been serving the Arsi Oromo people for 13 years. During that time, many children have come with problems that are chronic or need more specialized health care. As the country has developed, specialized health care has become more accessible--ie., it is available in Addis Ababa and elsewhere, but the costs remain prohibitive to most people in the Langano area. Other special needs children (i.e. blind or deaf) require help with educational expenses. Some children in dire circumstances need nutritional help beyond what the clinic normally provides.
Due to changes in regulations, funds are needed from new sources to continue assisting children in Langano with medical, educational or nutritional expenses. Extended help could include assistance in the home to prevent abandonment and a staff person to assist in travel between facilities of help.
