ELWA Radio Restoration - Phase 3

Amount Raised $0.00
Team Goal $0.00
The ELWA Radio studio and transmitter buildings were completely destroyed in 1990 in the Liberian civil war.

The FM and SW transmitters and single studio were then relocated to the old ELWA garage building, itself thoroughly looted in 1996. Full resumption of FM, SW and Liberian language programming and broadcasting will require additional studio and office space. The purpose of this project is to design, rebuild and resupply studios and offices for the radio ministry on the foundations of the old structure.

NEWS UPDATE: On November 8, 2011 the “garage building” was burnt down in a fire, so the need to rebuild is much more urgent. At present a small studio area in the present transmitter building is being used as a temporary solution but we desperately need to rebuild.
