The Church Leadership Training project provides international scholarships for gifted national pastors and Christian workers who have completed the basic level of theological education offered by the Evangelical Christian Union (the SIM affiliated national church) in Bolivia.
Scholarship recipients study for three years and return to Bolivia with a Master’s degree. This advanced training enables pastors and Christian workers to minister more effectively in their various ministries within the ECU, improves the level of theological education the ECU offers in Bolivia, and strengthens the leadership of the ECU on a national level.
To date, twelve church workers have received scholarships through this project. All twelve returned to Bolivia after completing their studies. Nine are currently serving in Bolivia with the ECU. One is now pastoring in another denomination and one more has been sent as a missionary to the U.S. Five are serving in theological education, and three are serving as pastors in an ECU church in the city where they live.
