Ouagadougou Flood Relief

Amount Raised $0.00
Team Goal $0.00
Intervention is required to help people who lost their houses in the flood in Ouagadougou, to help meet basic needs of those who have taken refuge in government centres (food, blankets, sleeping mats, medicine, mosquito nets, soap, etc.) Further intervention will be needed to help in the resettlement of those most vulnerable and least able to re-establish themselves. Intervention is taking place in collaboration with Burkinabe partners.

The government estimated that there are about 150,000 people whose homes are no longer habitable - either completely or partially destroyed. About 110,000 of these people have taken refuge in about 100 schools and churches and are receiving some emergency aid through government and private channels.
